These Taylor Stitch jackets have a great back story

As a product Designer at Taylor Stitch, Nick would have to keep one eye on everything cool. However he probably didn’t think inspiration would have come by the way of his father, Albert.

To sum it up, Albert’s life, which you can read more about here, involved nuclear subs, Kawasaki Z1s, and the hankering for a rich tanned leather jacket. The jacket he purchased in 1973 turned out to be made by leather makers Golden Bear who have a long history of quality leather goods, and in the same neighbourhood as Taylor Stitch. Hello collaboration!

Taylor Stitch commissioned Golden Bear to produce a leather jacket inspired by Albert’s original and is released in the different colours of Whiskey Steerhide, Espresso Steerhide, and Loden Steerhide sitting within their Moto collection, all handmade in San Francisco.

To gauge interest, Taylor Stitch are using crowdfunding and as of writing the Espresso Steerhide is 930% funded with 11 days to go. Not bad!

The crowdfunding price is $875 USD, and once fully funded changes to the regular price of $1078 USD. That’s quite a saving but even at full price it’s not a crazy ask.
