It must be a tough job being a test driver for Bugatti. Not only are you surrounded by extraordinary people both customers and employees of Bugatti alike, you also get to drive some of the most incredible luxury hypercars on the planet.
Le Mans winner and living legend Andy Wallace is one such man tasked with development and customer duties for Bugatti. His latest adventure sees him driving the new Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport in Dubai journeying 100 kilometres south-east of the city of Dubai to the Hajar mountains on the border to Oman where it’s corner after corner.
In something like the Chiron Pur Sport, that alters your insides until you start crying out for a straight piece of tarmac. That 8.0-litre W16 engine with 1,500 PS and 1,600 newton metres of torque will make sure of it along with the Pur Sport’s 15 percent shorter transmission ratio over the “regular” Chiron meaning it will accelerate from 0-100 kph in 2.3 seconds instead of 2.4 seconds, and from 0-200 kph in 5.9 seconds instead of 6.1 seconds.
There are only 60 Chiron Pur Sports to be made and at the price listed below you can understand why.
