The Bugatti Baby II gets you into an exclusive club

When Bugatti announced they were going to reimagine their original 1926 “Baby” it was met with universal interest and praise and now the cars are ready to be built for 500 lucky customers.

Based on the original Type 35, the Baby II was developed with The Little Car Company and is said to be a 3/4 scale of the original full sized legend.

Built upon an electric drivetrain it may be the Bugatti that represents both the past and future in some respects. The range is 31 miles depending on driving style and with it being rear-wheel drive, i’m wagering most owners will be having too much fun to worry about reaching any economy milestones.

It may look like something from 1926 but the Baby II actually has some tech such as regenerative braking, adjustable dampers and the Bugatti “Speed Key” which unlocks the ability to reach a top speed of 42 mph.

There are three Bugatti Baby II cars in the range: the Base starting at $36,600 USD in French Racing Blue with black leather interior, the Vitesse at $53,000 USD and the Pur Sang with handmade aluminium bodywork at $71,400 USD. The Vitesse and Pur Sang can be ordered with a range of vintage colours or if the new owners possess a Chiron, they can spec their Baby II cars in the same colour.

The new owners then get automatic membership to the prestigious Bugatti Owner’s Club and The Little Car Club where they can take them on circuit.

According to Bugatti, the majority of the cars have been accounted for, however there are still a small amount of build slots available for Bugatti customers which will be on a first come, first served basis.
