The great-grandson of TAG Heuer founder Edouard Heuer, Jack Heuer turns 88 this year having previously led the company as TAG Heuer CEO, now residing as Honourary Chairman.
And what better way to honour the honourary chairman than to create a watch that has so many personal attributes. Jack’s favourite watch is the vintage Heuer Carrera 1158CHN and so this was the inspiration for the new, more modern incarnation.
Made in Jack’s favourite material of rose gold, the material he specified for watches he often gifted to lucky race drivers, it’s very much a watch in the name of Heuer.
The 42mm case houses the in-house manufactured movement Heuer 02. The face features an 88 with clear references to Chinese numerology, symbolising luck, the cycle of life, and its perpetual renewal with its double infinity loop. Water resistance is 100m.
The back features Jack’s famous words of “Time never stops, why should we?” and the black alligator leather band also features his signature.
Limited to 188 pieces and available for pre-order now from TAG Heuer, the watch is priced at $26,700 AUD ($18,450 USD / £15,300 GBP). Deliveries begin March 2021.
