Seeing these Porsche hypercar concepts kind of makes you wish the brand would create a bespoke coach building service much like Ferrari do. To see these amazing creations come to life would be incredible.

Given where we are headed with electric cars and the homogenisation of power sources and drivetrains, coach building may have a strong revival.

The latest set of images to be released by Porsche are centred around explorations the design studio has done for hypercars with stunning results.

Porsche 906 Living Legend (2015)

Conceptually, this 1:1 hard model was about two cars “colliding” or being pushed together. That duct is meant to feed air into a mid-mounted engine.

Porsche Vision 918 RS (2019)

Pushing beyond the hybrid 918 Spyder is this concept, the Vision 918 RS. The 1:1 hard model takes the original and turns it up to 11.

Porsche Vision 920 (2019)

There’s no doubt the requirements for designing a race car vs a sports car are different. This Vision 920 1:1 hard model aimed to combine both with a central cockpit and extreme aerodynamics.

Porsche Vision E (2019)

Porsche’s venture into Formula E resulted in the 99X Electric and this was the basis for the Vision E concept, a single seat racing car for privateers.

Porsche 919 Street (2017)

Unveiled previously, the 919 Street is based on the successful Porsche LMP1 racing car. The intention was to create a special series for privateers.

Porsche 917 Living Legend (2013)

Based on the Porsche 918 Spyder, this 1:1 clay model celebrates Porsche’s Le Mans victory in 1970 with the 917 KH in the hands of Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood.
