It seems auto makers are reaching new audiences with collaborations with fashion brands as we have seen recently with Kith for BMW. Now Lamborghini has collaborated with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto to help launch Lamborghini’s new “residence” in Tokyo called The Lounge Tokyo, the second of its kind for the Italian supercar maker outside of New York.

The ground floor is a space to welcome guests and customers while also being the space where customers take ownership of their new Lamborghinis with personalised handovers. One can only imagine the world class treatment bestowed upon customers by the Japanese staff. Floors 2 and 3 are dedicated to events, meetings, and open to the public whenever there are special events such as exhibitions or art shows.

The new location also caters for Lamborghini customers who want to be able to personalise their cars through the “Ad Personam” studio.

Yamamoto-san got to express his creativity with an Aventador S, using one of his latest collections as inspiration, dominated by a red and black theme. There’s also a co-branded capsule collection featuring a mod coat, bomber jacket and hoodie sweatshirt.

Mitja Borkert, Head of Design for Automobili Lamborghini said: “It has been exciting to have the chance to work with Yohji Yamamoto, the world-renowned fashion icon, who innately understood our significant Lamborghini design DNA. Our collaboration inspired this outstanding artwork and design for the Aventador S, which was unveiled today, and celebrates Italian craftsmanship connecting with Japanese culture.”
