The Curves California soft cover book follows the same theme of all other Curves books, taking you on a journey through a landscape with amazing roads and amazing photography.
Rather than a simply a collection of images, this book takes you on a journey, with maps, elevation charts, and more.
The maps are wonderful, the pictures breathtaking, but rather than the images being the vehicle for page turning, it was actually the writing bringing everything together.
…these Curves books are the perfect antidote inspiring you to get out and drive
There’s plenty to see along California’s coastline, one of the most famous in the world as it snakes it’s way from the southern border of Mexico to San Francisco and beyond. The aerial/drone photos so heavily associated with travel photography, Instagram, and blogging are still captivating given the colour grading applied brings out the ruggedness of the landscape.
Heading inwards we take in the magnificence that is Yosemite, then on to the glitz of Las Vegas, Palm Springs, then back into LA.
My only disappointment was the occasional repeat of an image I’d already seen, but it’s a minor gripe.
I still had a smile page after page as I imagined which car I’d use to drive along the coastline (open top Corvette please).
If you spend most of your time locked up in an office for most of the week, then these Curves books are the perfect antidote inspiring you to get out and drive, to see the landscape beyond convenient means, to broaden your horizons and dream of places to travel to and explore. That’s what we as automotive enthusiasts do so well.
