Bang & Olufsen have released the Beoplay HX, wireless headphones that continue to build upon the tech laden headsets already available.
Two custom 40mm speaker drivers with neodymium magnets and bass ports provide the sound quality yet Bang & Olufsen aren’t highlighting the premium sound experience, that seems like a given, rather it’s the rest of what the HX offers that seems to be the focus.
Four dedicated microphones are said to provide excellent call quality complimented by Bang & Olufsen’s improved speech delivery, and given the work from home status and remote meetings we all have to endure, having good voice pick up is essential.
Digital Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology is also included helping you to focus.
Many products these days seemingly must have app to offload extra features and the HX is no different. Bang & Olufsen’s app allows sound profile changes, and ANC presets.
Battery life is a 35 hour run time allowing play to last for roughly 5 days before ending to charge again. Lengthy sessions are also less of a pain thanks to the use of lightweight materials and Bang & Olufsen’s revamped headband which has a centre-relief zone. The ear cushions are made from soft lambskin and the inner material consists of memory foam that adapts to the shape and curves of the ear. The upper headband uses a smooth grain cow hide while the lower section is covered with a knitted fabric. Aluminium is featured throughout the construction keeping weight low.
Included is a fabric case for transporting.
Connectivity is done through Bluetooth 5.1, Microsoft Swift Pair, Google Fast Pair and Made for iPhone (MFi) with an easy set up process for both Android and Apple.
The HX is available in Black Anthracite, Sand, and Timber and comes with a global 3 year warranty
