2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed is here! Right then, time for supercars galore, vintage racers, lots of sound, no sound (thanks cars of the future), drifting, hillclimbs, F1 and MotoGP stars, Concours d’elegance, a forest rally stage…the list goes on! To say Goodwood Festival of Speed has something for everyone is a slight understatement. Even kids under 13 get in for free. Sadly, adults with the mind of a 12 year old don’t qualify for a free pass, much to the disappointment of most of the male attendees.
Every year, Goodwood Festival of Speed has a theme and this year it’s ‘Speed Kings – Motorsport’s Record Breakers’. This will be a good opportunity to be reminded of the drivers, riders, cars, motorcycles and teams who smashed the opposition, forged a legacy, and rewrote history books. That so many records are still being broken in front of our eyes every weekend reminds us that we are watching history unfold, particularly in Formula 1 and MotoGP with both Lewis Hamilton and Marc Marquez looking like they will get the job done and add yet another title to both their impressive tallies.
